Anna of Hesse (26 October 1529, Kassel – 10 July 1591, Meisenheim) was a princess of Hesse by birth and marriage Countess Palatine of Zweibrücken.
Anna was a daughter of Landgrave Philip I of Hesse (1501–1567) from his marriage to Christine (1505–1549), a daughter of Duke George of Saxony.

Wilhelm (1535–1592), called William the Younger (GermanWilhelm der Jüngere), was Duke of Brunswick-Lüneburg and Prince of Lüneburg from 1559 until his death. Until 1569 he ruled together with his brother, Henry of Dannenberg.
He was the son of Ernest I, Duke of Brunswick-Lüneburg. On 12 October 1561 he married Dorothea of Denmark (29 June 1546Kolding–6 January 1617 Winsen), daughter of Christian III of Denmark and Dorothea of Saxe-Lauenburg.
In 1582, William began suffering from fits of insanity. These fits caused his wife to flee him in 1584 for her own safety.
After his death, his wife became regent for their son George.

Princess Dorothea of Denmark (29 June 1546 – 6 January 1617) was the Duchess of Brunswick-Lüneburg from 1561 until 1592 as the consort of Duke William the Younger. She was regent for her son George from 1592 to 1596.
Born in Kolding, Dorothea was the youngest child of Christian III of Denmark and Dorothea of Saxe-Lauenburg. She married William, Duke of Brunswick-Lüneburg on 12 October 1561.

He was born in Meisenheim as the second son of Wolfgang, Count Palatine of Zweibrücken and his wife Anna of Hesse. In 1588 he changed the state religion from Lutheranism to Calvinism. He died in Germersheim in 1604 and was buried in the Alexanderkirchein Zweibrücken.

Joachim Ernest of Anhalt (21 October 1536 – 6 December 1586), was a German prince of the House of Ascania, ruler of the principality of Anhalt-Zerbst from 1551, and from 1570 sole ruler of all the Anhalt lands.
Joachim Ernest was born in Dessau on 21 October 1536 as the second son of John V, Prince of Anhalt-Zerbst, by his wife Margaret, daughter of Joachim I Nestor, Elector of Brandenburg. He received an extensive education under the supervision of his father. On 1 February 1549, just thirteen years of age, he was officially admitted to the University of Wittenberg, where, among others, he studied with the theologian Georg Helt.

Anna Maria was the eldest child of the Count Palatine and Duke Philip Louis of Neuburg (1547–1614) from his marriage to Anna(1552–1632), daughter of Duke William of Jülich-Cleves-Berg.

Henry Julius (German: Heinrich Julius) (15 October 1564 – 30 July 1613) was duke of Brunswick-Lüneburg and prince ofWolfenbüttel from 1589 until his death. In 1576 he had become the first rector of the Protestant University of Helmstedt.
Henry Julius was born in Hessen am Fallstein as the eldest son of Julius, Duke of Brunswick-Lüneburg and his wife, Hedwig of Brandenburg. Already in 1566, at the age of two, he had been elected bishop of Halberstadt by the cathedral chapter; however, a condition of his election was an agreement that the cathedral chapter would lead the Bishopric under its own authority until Henry Julius reached the age of 14. Hence he took over administration of the Bishopric in 1578, and became active as a temporal as well as spiritual ruler. He improved general education in the Bishopric, and completed the Protestant Reformation, although he allowed Catholic office holders to keep their privileges — except that he strictly prohibited priests from having mistresses.

Elisabeth of Denmark (25 August 1573 – 19 June 1626) was duchess consort of Brunswick-Lüneburg as married to Duke Henry Julius of Brunswick-Lüneburg. She was regent of Brunswick-Lüneburg in 1616-1622.
She was the eldest daughter of King Frederick II of Denmark and his spouse Sophie of Mecklenburg-Güstrow. First raised with her maternal grand parents, she returned to Denmark in 1579.
Scottish ambassadors had at first concentrated their suit on Elisabeth as a prospective wife for King James VI of Scotland, but King Frederick betrothed Elisabeth to the Duke of Brunswick, promising the Scots instead that "for the second daughter Anna, if the King did like her, he should have her".

Christian I of Saxony (Dresden, 29 October 1560 – Dresden, 25 September 1591) was Elector of Saxony from 1586 to 1591. He belonged to the Albertine line of the House of Wettin.
He was the sixth but second surviving son of Elector Augustus of Saxony and Anna of Denmark. The death of his older brother, Alexander (8 October 1565), made him the new heir apparent to the Electorate of Saxony.
Christian succeeded his father when he died, in 1586. His chancellor was Nikolaus Krell. During his reign, the first measurement was made of the Electorate of Saxony by Matthias Oeder. Later, the work of Oeder was continued by Balthasar Zimmermann until 1633 and completed as far as possible.

Sophie of Brandenburg (6 June 1568 – 7 December 1622) was a Princess of Brandenburg and by marriage Electress of Saxony. From 1591 she was the regent of Saxony during the minority of her son Christian II.
Sophie was born at Zechlin castle, Rheinsberg, a daughter of the Elector of Brandenburg John George (1525–1598) by his second marriage with Sabina of Brandenburg-Ansbach (1548–1575), daughter of Margrave George of Brandenburg-Ansbach.

Duchess Marie Eleonore of Cleves (16 June 1550 – 1 June 1608) was a Duchess consort of Prussia as the wife of Albert Frederick, Duke of Prussia. She was the eldest child of William, Duke of Jülich-Cleves-Berg and Maria of Austria.

Her mother was the daughter of Ferdinand I, Holy Roman Emperor and Anna of Bohemia and Hungary. Her brother was John William, Duke of Jülich-Cleves-Berg. Her paternal aunts were Anne of Cleves, who was the fourth wife of Henry VIII of England, andSybille of Cleves, who married John Frederick I, Elector of Saxony. Marie Eleonore had many maternal aunts and uncles, such asMaximilian II, Holy Roman Emperor and Johanna of Austria. Johann VII of Mecklenburg (7 March 1558 – 22 March 1592) (sometimes called Johann V, and usually translated to John VII orJohn V) was a Duke of Mecklenburg-Schwerin.
Johann was the son of John Albert I, Duke of Mecklenburg-Güstrow and Schwerin (1525–1576), and his wife Duchess Anna Sophia of Prussia (1527–1591). He was eighteen years old when his father died. A regency council was appointed that ruled in his name for the next nine years.

Sophia of Schleswig-Holstein-Gottorp (1 June 1569 at Gottorf Castle – 14 November 1634 in Schwerin) was regent of theDuchy of Mecklenburg-Schwerin from 1603 to 1608.
Sophia was the eldest daughter of Duke Adolph of Holstein-Gottorp and his wife Christine of Hesse. She married on 17 February 1588 in Reinbek to Duke John VII of Mecklenburg. John was a weak ruler who was unable to rule his indebted and corrupt country. Sophia almost lived in poverty.

His parents were Count Anthony I of Oldenburg and Sophie of Saxe-Lauenburg.

Johann Adolf of Holstein-Gottorp (27 February 1575 – 31 March 1616) was a Duke of Holstein-Gottorp.
He was a third son of Duke Adolf of Holstein-Gottorp and his wife Christine of Hesse-Kassel (or Hesse-Cassel). He became the first Lutheran Administrator of the Prince-Bishopric of Lübeck (1586–1607) and the Administrator of the Prince-Archbishopric of Bremen (1589–1596). He became the Duke after the deaths of his two elder brothers. After succeeding in 1590 his father as ruling Duke the Bremian Chapter enforced his resignation in favour of his younger brother John Frederick, Duke of Schleswig-Holstein-Gottorp.

John George I (German: Johann Georg I.) (5 March 1585 – 8 October 1656) was Elector of Saxony from 1611 to 1656.
Born in Dresden, John George was the second son of the Elector Christian I and Sophie of Brandenburg.[1] He belonged to the Albertine line of the House of Wettin.

Magdalene Sibylle of Prussia (31 December 1586 – 12 February 1659) was an Electress of Saxony as the spouse of John George I, Elector of Saxony.

She was born in Königsberg, the daughter of Albert Frederick, Duke of Prussia and Marie Eleonore of Cleves. She married John George on 19 July 1607 in Torgau. She was a great granddaughter of Ferdinand I, Holy Roman Emperor. She is also three times ancestor of Augusta of Saxe-Gotha, mother of George III of the United Kingdom. In that way, she connected the ancestry of the British monarchs to the Catholic Monarchs. She was a friend of the Swedish queen Maria Eleonora of Brandenburg, her niece, and was interested in painting, poetry and gardening. She used Swedish prisoners of war to work on the Dresdner Festungsbau("Dresden fortress"). As a widow in 1656, she retired to the Dresdner Frau Kurfürstin-Haus and died in Dresden in 1659.

Egli è considerato ufficialmente il capostipite della casata dei conti di Schwarzburg-Sondershausen.

Günther XL, Count of Schwarzburg nicknamed the Rich or Günther with the fat mouth (31 October 1499 inSondershausen – 10 November 1552 in Gehren), was a ruling Count of Schwarzburg.

Guenther was the eldest son of Count Henry XXXI of Schwarzburg-Blankenburg (1473–1526) and his first wife Magdalena of Hohnstein (1480–1504). Over time, Günther united all but one all of the Schwarzburg possessions in one hand He introduced Protestantism in his country and fought on the Protestant side against the emperor in theSchmalkaldic War. Günther benefitted considerably from the political downfall of the Ernestine branch of the House of Wettin.

Era la filla gran del comte Felip Lluís II de Hanau-Münzenberg (1576-1612) i de Caterina d’Orange-Nassau (1578-1648). Comtessa de Hanau-Münzenberg va esdevenir landgravina de Hessen-Kassel en casar-se amb Guillem V de Hessen-Kassel.

Elisabet Carlota de Wittelsbach -en alemany Elisabeth Charlotte von der Pfalz (Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz19 de novembre de 1597 -Krosno Odrzańskie26 d'abril de 1660) fou una noble alemanya, filla de l'elector Frederic IV (1574-1610) i de la princesa d'Orange Lluïsa Juliana de Nassau (1576-1644). Va tenir una forta influència en el decantament de l'electorat de Brandenburg a favor de la causa protestant, en la Guerra dels Trenta Anys i en contra dels interessos de l'Imperi austríac. De fet el seu matrimoni ja va ser arranjat amb la intenció d'unir dues dinasties protestants, la de Hohenzollern i la de Wittelsbach.

Marquês Frederico VI de Baden-Durlach (KarlsburgDurlach16 de novembro de 1617 – Durlach, 10 de janeiro de 1677ou 31 de janeiro de 1677[1] ) foi marquês de Baden-Durlach desde a morte de seu pai em 1659 até morrer em 1677. Filho do marquês Frederico V de Baden-Durlach e de Bárbara de Württemberg.

Cristina Madalena de Zweibrücken-Kleeburg (Nyköping27 de maio de 1616 – Baden-Durlach4 de agosto de1662) da Casa de Wittelsbach foi uma nobre criada na Suécia que se tornou marquesa consorte de Baden-Durlach pelo seu casamento com o marquês Frederico VI de Baden-Durlach. Filha do conde palatino João Casimiro de Zweibrücken-Kleeburg e da princesa Catarina da Suécia, uma neta do rei Gustavo I da Suécia. Era também irmã mais velha do rei Carlos X da Suécia.


Guillermo V de Hesse-Kassel (en alemánWilhelm V von Hessen-KasselKassel14 de febrero de 1602 - Leer21 de septiembre de 1637). Fue landgrave deHesse-Kassel de 1627 a 1637. Era hijo de Mauricio de Hesse-Kassel y de Sabina de Würtemberg.

Amalia Isabel de Hanau-Münzenberg (en alemánAmalia Elisabeth von Hanau-Münzenberg, también conocida comoAmelia) (Hanau29 de enero de 1602 - Kassel8 de agosto de 1651). Condesa de Hanau-Münzenberg y landgravina deHesse-Kassel por su matrimonio con Guillermo V. Asumió como regenta de Hesse-Kassel de 1637 a 1650, destacándose por su fuerza como gobernante y su alianza con Francia en la Guerra de los Treinta Años.
Amalia era la hija mayor del conde Felipe Luis II de Hanau-Münzenberg y de Catalina Bélgica de Orange-Nassau; ésta hija a su vez de Guillermo de Orange.
